BJP guarantees interest and collateral-free loans to rural MSMEs in Punjab

New Delhi, Feb 9 (KNN) The Bharatiya Janata Party has (BJP) has promised to promote the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through interest and collateral-free loans to rural youth with an easy payback mechanism, the party manifesto for Punjab elections stated.

It has also assured to entirely waive off the debt of all farmers with less than five acres of land-holdings in the state.

In the agrarian dominant state, the party also promised 'Mehnat Da Pakka Mull' under which the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for farmers growing fruits, vegetables, pulses, and oilseeds will be guaranteed as part of the Central Governments MSP extension programme.

Under the Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) it has also promised subsidies to agro-based industries.

Rural areas will get investment for their tax exempted agro-based Industrial Clusters comprising small and medium enterprises.

The manifesto also aims at promoting rural entrepreneurship through ‘Samriddh-Pind’ which will be launched and funds will be allocated annually to promote rural startups. (KNN Bureau)
