Budget Spl: Haryana MSMEs want FM to give flexibility to small sector in policies

Chandigarh, Jan 16 (KNN) The micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from Haryana wants the government to focus on basic needs of the sector such as infrastructure, subsidies etc in the upcoming Budget.

KNN spoke to various MSME associations in the state to know their demands and suggestions.

Kundli Industries Association (KIA) said the government should come out with such policies which favour the small sector.

Apart from that, “GST should single window and the markets should be free so that the small industries are able to compete with big industries, said Harish Agarwal, General Secretary, KIA.

According to him every industry should be treated as per their production level, so there should be flexibility for all types of industries according to their market sizes.

“Government wants the small industries to follow the same suit that big companies are following, which is not possible. So there should be some flexibility”, added Agarwal.

According to Samalkha Industries Association (SIA) the tax rate on income over Rs 10 lakhs should be decreased as this will enable the units to do business freely.

“Reduction in the income tax for over Rs 10 lakhs, allow the government to get rid of the black money issue also”, said Prem Mittal, Secretary, SIA.

He also suggest that the industries need subsidy for investment and for manufacturing machineries as required.

“Government should provide subsidies for Generators as it has major role in the manufacturing units and support in investment also helps industries work independently,” said Mittal.

While Karnal Print ‘N’ Pack Industries Association (KPPIA) said suggested that a committee should be formed to bridge the gap between government and the MSMEs and to monitor the activities between the two.

“There should be a committee formed consisting of members from industry, government and MSMEs in order to allow transparency in the process,” added Amit Arora.

He also suggested organizing awareness programs on skill development, as according to him these programs would be helpful in the development of the MSMEs.

The union budget is going to be presented by the finance minister Arun Jaitley on February 1, 2017, a month earlier this time. (KNN/RAS)
