CAIT demands demailed promulgation of an Ordinance to protect traders from sealing in Delhi

New Delhi, Sep 22 (KNN) The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT),  in a communication sent to Union Urban Development Minister Hardeep Puri has demanded demailed promulgation of an Ordinance to protect Delhi from sealing.

The CAIT has also called for a one time amnesty scheme which means status quo should be maintained as on 31st December 2017 and violations if any should be condoned by levying certain reasonable charges.

The CAIT has sent a similar separate communication to Union Home Rajnath Singh calling for his immediate interference in the matter of give an Ordinance.

Delhi Trade Bandh has already been called by CAIT to register strong protest against sealing, on 28 September when all major markets of Delhi will be closed.

CAIT, Secretary General, Praveen Khandelwal in his communication to Puri said that the monitoring committee has recently issued orders to seal all farmhouses and motels immediately which will pose a big social problem as thousands of wedding and other functions are already fixed to be solemnized in these farmhouses.

He added that, if they are sealed, the people of Delhi will run into great trouble.

Khandelwal further said that although master plan is amended by the Government about 4 months back but so far Delhi has got not even a single relief nor any shop has been desealed.

He said, it's about nine months now that large number of shops still remain sealed and traders are not at the verge of starvation. Since the matter in court is deferred till next year it will be highly difficult for the traders to survive.

Under the circumstances, promulgation of an Ordinance with an amnesty scheme is the only option available to provide relief to traders from sealing.

The Government must rise to the occasion and take immediate steps-said Khandelwal.
