Dehradun, Dec 15 (KNN) Directing the top officials in the state industries department to prepare about 2000 new entrepreneurs in different potential fields in the MSME sector, chief minister Harish Rawat said that his government may even change or amend the industrial policy for this if required.

The chief minister gave directions to this effect at a meeting held at Beejapur guest house.

"It will be an achievement if we truly manage to create 2000 fresh entrepreneurs interested in starting medium and small scale industries in different potential fields, suiting the geographical and climatic conditions of the hills," the CM said.

"Although we have already formulated a separate policy to boost medium and small scale industries for entrepreneurs, we may change or amend it for the benefit of investors and entrepreneurs if it is required," said Rawat.

Rawat asked the officials to work on the project in close coordination with other concerning departments to link more and more people with self-employment.

He also instructed officials to identify places in Bhagwanpur, Landhora and other hilly areas for wood crafts and wood carving, apart from other industries. (KNN Bureau)
