Chhattisgarh to set up Solid Waste Cluster with waste to energy technology

Raipur, Jul 6 (KNN) Chhattisgarh government is planning to set up a Solid Waste Cluster by adopting waste to energy technology for solid waste processing in the state.

Under the State Urban Development Agency (SUDA), on behalf of Raipur, Bhillai and Durga municipal corporations, the proposed project is to be be undertaken through public private partnership on a design, finance, build, operate and transfer (DFBOT) basis.

The project will be implemented in the identified municipal land to be leased by the municipal corporation.

In this regards, SUDA is inviting bids from various entities in accordance with applicable laws and regulations including Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) Rules 2000.
The selected operator has to design, finance, build, operate and maintain the project for 25 years.

The proposed technologies should be proven and robust technology, adaptable to local conditions such as rain and humidity for processing and disposal of MSW, said a SUDA notification.

The notification further said that project should be implemented in eco-friendly aesthetic manner and should be scalable in module. (KNN Bureau)
