Chinese Firm AET Displays To Invest Rs 200 Crore To Expand India Manufacturing

Chennai, May 1 (KNN) AET Displays, a subsidiary of China's Guangda Group, is accelerating its India expansion plans with a substantial Rs 200 crore investment over the next 12-18 months.

The LED screen maker aims to deepen its manufacturing capabilities, strengthen local supply chains, and enhance after-sales service networks across the country, according to Su Piow Ko, Vice President at AET Displays, reported ET.

Currently operating an assembly facility in Chennai, the company is sourcing up to 55 per cent of components locally for certain products.

“We are at level 1 of manufacturing in India, which entails the initial serialisation of the supply chain. While we're locally procuring some parts like cabinets and cables, other products have over 55 per cent indigenous content,” Ko explained.

Driven by large brand partnerships seeking Made-in-India products, AET intends to elevate select product lines to Level 2 within the next 12-18 months, signifying advanced local value addition.

AET manufactures LED displays ranging fr0m 0.6 millimetres for indoor use to 10 millimetres for outdoor advertising, serving clients like the Tata Group, Shoppers Stop, and Chivas. It also offers rental solutions for concerts, weddings, and business conferences.

Keen to build domestic R&D prowess, the company plans to undertake raw product design in India, collaborating with local suppliers for tooling, molding, aluminum casting, and more. “We're starting fr0m R&D all the way down to manufacturing, process engineering, quality control, and order packaging,” Ko stated.

India's active LED display market is projected to grow at an annual rate of 16-20 per cent, rendering it a strategic manufacturing and sales hub for AET.

The company has five sales and experience centres in the pipeline across Gujarat, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Lucknow to bolster its nationwide presence, the executive added.
