CICU apprises govt officials of issues regarding PPCB

Ludhiana, Jun 3 (KNN) Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU) on Thursday met Anurag Verma, Principal Secretary, Environment, Science & Technology and Prof. Satwinder Singh Marwaha, Chairman, Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) to discuss the several issues regarding pollution.

S Upkar Singh Ahuja, President, CICU urged the officials to extend the date of mix land units which is at present is upto-2023.

He also highlighted issues like Grant of Permanent Consent for Green Category Units, Speedy Setting up CETPs for Dyeing Industry, setting up Separate Zone for Red Category Industries, Providing Subsidy and Low-Cost Rate of Interest for Purchase of Equipment for Controlling Pollution and Flexibility in Disposal of Effluent up to 25 per cent etc.

Further, CICU said that it would send representation to the government for the smoother functioning of the industry.

Pankaj Sharma, General Secretary, CICU also highlighted that the government has decided to ban pet coke without providing any alternative, and sought permission to use pet coke for the time being.

The officials assured that all the issues will be taken into consideration to resolve soon.
