CICU suggests measures to Punjab Govt for growth of MSMEs

New Delhi, 26 Oct (KNN) Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU) has forwarded to Punjab Government a slew of measures for growth of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).  

“There is a dire need of aid for revival to boost MSME Industries’ morale,” highlighted President, S. Upkar Singh Ahuja and Secretary General, Pankaj Sharma of CICU.

CICU has urged the state government of Punjab to extend their support. It however cautioned against orders such as of Urban and Housing Department, Rasta for Industrial units changed from 16 feet to 33 feet and Minimum size of Industrial plot changed to 1 1/2 Acres.

“Such orders should be abolished with immediate effect,” CICU demanded.

The other suggestions included reduction in Electricity charges for MSME upto 100KW and termination of Institutional Tax.

Further, it asked for abolition of enhancement charges levied by PSIEC.

It also stressed on the allotment of plots at Dhanansu Focal Point for MSME at special rates.

J.S Bhogal, Publicity Secretary, CICU, Rajat Gupta, Press Secretary, CICU & Sarvjit Singh, Vice President, CICU jointly mentioned that Ex. Chief Minister of Punjab, S. Amarinder Singh announced INR 32 crore for complete facelift of the Ludhiana Focal Points in his visit last year to the city, but no significant development had been done till date.

They pointed out that construction of roads were still pending in Focal Point areas and other development works like proper & adequate Street Lighting, Sewerage, Green belts etc. were yet to start.
