Cluster awareness programme for entrepreneurs

Madurai, Apr 4 (KNN) With an objective to bring awareness about the concept of cluster approach among entrepreneurs, the Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI), Tamil Nadu and Madurai District Tiny and Small Scale Industries Association (Maditssia) have organised a three day awareness programme.
The Cluster Awareness Programme starts today here and will continue until April-6.
The awareness programme is intended to familiarise entrepreneurs with central and state government schemes for cluster promotion, prospects in Madurai district and financial assistance for projects. It will also prepare the projects for assistance and urge the entrepreneurs to associate with cluster development in the district, according to a report from The Hindu Business Line.
EDI is an apex organisation in the field of entrepreneurship education and self-employment promotion in Tamil Nadu.
It has an objective to promote micro and small enterprises through entrepreneurship education.
As far as Maditssia is concerned, it has an objective to protect and promote the general interest of the persons engaged in small industries in Madurai.
It organises programmes for content updating and training needs through seminars, workshops and meetings by appropriate agencies. It also takes care of the community through fairs and exhibition. (KNN/ST)
