CM Banerjee boasts West Bengal as number 1 in MSME sector with huge investment potential

Kolkata, April 12 (KNN) Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has claimed West Bengal to be the number one state in the MSME sector which makes it the most favourable destination for investment. 

She stated the state holds top position when it comes to several social security schemes, MGNREGA etc.

CM Banerjee spoke about the development of the state while inaugurating 'Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan'. 

It is an exhibition facility spread across 22 acres of land having a capacity to attract investment of Rs 24,000 crore and employment of over 1 lakh.

“People don’t need to go to other states to hold grand exhibitions. All the industry friends have partners spread across the world. You can now call them here and jointly hold exhibitions in this world-class facility," said the CM.

She mentioned the several industrial projects that are coming up in state which will create huge employment opportunities such as the Tajpur deep-sea port, the Jangal Sundari, and Deocha Pachami coal block in Birbhum. 

Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan will be the venue for pre-event dinner of the Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS) on April 19 with the two-day event scheduled for April 20 and 21. (KNN Bureau)
