CM Banerjee calls district chambers as pillars of MSME sector

Kolkata, April 22 (KNN) Calling district chambers as the main pillars of MSME sector, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said the state government is focusing on development of all districts for creating rural jobs.

She said that the government does not want industrial development only in Kolkata and hence it is working to spread the development process across the state.

Addressing the valedictory session of the recently held Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS), CM Banerjee informed that the summit has attracted investment worth Rs 3.42 lakh crore.

“A total of 137 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and letters of intent (LoI) were signed for the investments,” she added. 

The summit is expected to create 40 lakh new jobs across sectors, as per the CM’s statement. 

About 4,3000 participants from 42 countries had attended the two-day business summit in Kolkata. 

The CM also announced that the next edition of BGBS in 2023 would be held from February 1-3, 2023. (KNN Bureau)
