CM Stalin pushes for $100 bn exports to achieve $1 trn economy of Tamil Nadu by 2030
Chennai, May 12 (KNN) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has called upon the big industry leaders of the State to increase exports by about USD 100 billion to achieve the target of USD 1 trillion economy by 2030.
After presenting the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) Southern Region Export Excellence Awards on Wednesday in Chennai, he said Tamil Nadu's exports stood at USD 26 billion and this should be increased to USD 100 billion in the next 8 years.
Crediting the efforts of the State government, he added, “We have already initiated several measures to attain the objective of boosting exports.”
Highlight the past announcements, CM Stalin spoke about the government’s plan on export promotion which was unveiled last year in September and addressed the setting up of a Knowledge City, State Export Promotion Committee, and International Furniture Park in the State.
He presented the FIEO awards in the presence of Industries Minister Thangam Thennarasu and MSME Minister T M Anbarasan.
Top business leaders from various industries and sectors participated in the event and were presented with awards in various different categories. (KNN Bureau)
