Common marketing centers should be established for buying and selling of products: AP CM

Hyderabad, Nov 3 (KNN) Working towards eliminating poverty in municipal areas in the Andhra Pradesh, 30 production centers have been established to provide self-employment in urban areas and skill development trainings are also being imparted to low income group.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu held a meeting with Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana, Satish Chandra Special Chief Secretary, Sai Prasad Principal Secretary to CM, Karikala Valaven Principal Secretary Municipal Administration and Urban Development and others.

Naidu suggested that along with the production centers, common marketing centers should also be established for buying and selling of products.

AP government is taking a number of activities under MEPMA.

For additional income generation of Rs 60,000 per annum per 4 lakh households, income generation activities like Rs 50 crores for SC,ST,BC, Minority and kapu corporation, training of 70,000 youth for wage and self-employment, street vending activities for 20,000 individuals, technical marketing and financial support to 4 lakh households, Rs 400 crores to streenidhi, Rs 3,000 crores through bank linkages are being taken up informed the officials to the Chief Minister, according to an official release.

This amounts to creation of additional income to a tune of Rs 2400 crores in 4.00 lakh households.

In order to eradicate poverty, proper health and nutrition, quality education, social security along with income generation activities should be taken up the Chief Minister said.

The Chief Minister fixed 2019 as the deadline to bring down poverty levels in the state.

The officials informed the Chief Minister that 43 city livelihood centers have been established offering 310 services to improve livelihood opportunities for urban poor. The city livelihood centers cover 1,577 members.

For booking services online, the Chief Minister said that a multi-disciplinary team should be formed and services should be provided through a simple click and call.

For self-employment in urban areas, 30 production centers have been established informed the officials to the CM. The Chief Minister suggested that along with the production centers, common marketing centers should also be established for buying and selling of products.

Those buildings and structures which have come up in violation of laws should be brought down immediately said the Chief Minister and those illegal buildings which have sought permissions online should be demolished first he added.

“In the year 2015-16, 35896 people from low income groups have been given skill development training in which 29672 people have already been placed.  The target set for 2016-17 is to train 35600 people,” informed the officials to the Chief Minister.

Foundation course are being offered to 34,156 students in 6th to 10th classes of municipal high schools to provide sensitive support to children to poorest of the poor families. The foundation course will help them compete with students from corporate schools and also develop their overall personality.
