Cuttack MSME workers celebrates 47th National Safety Week

New Delhi, Mar 9 (KNN) In a bid to facilitate awareness among the workers, an event on the occasion of National Safety week was organized for the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) workers in Jagatpur Industrial Estate in Cuttack.

Odisha Industries Association (OIA) and Directorate of Factories and Boilers together celebrated this week by organizing a safety convergence workshop commemorating foundation day of National Safety Week.

Principal Secretary to Labor and ESI Department Anu Garg inaugurated the workshop and ADG Satyajit Mohanty was the guest of honor. Speaking at the event, Garg highlighted the importance of ensuring safety at the work place.

He further requested the entrepreneurs to follow safety regulations, SOPs and use protective gears. Garg also spoke of the measures taken by the department in order to diminish industrial mishaps across the state.

Speaking at the occasion Mohanty said that it is the responsibility of each individual to prohibit unsafe acts at the work place and try to eliminate unsafe working conditions and create safe environment.

Further on this occasion, 27 workers were felicitated for their contribution for practicing best occupational safety measures from 25 factories. Also a safety skit and mock fire drill was conducted on this occasion by the industry workers to promote safety awareness among the workers.

With a view to create awareness among worker first-aid measures that should be taken during the fire accidents was also practically demonstrated. (KNN/YV)
