Dairy Technology College to open mini dairy plant in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, Jul 9 (KNN)  In a move to integrate technology with trade and farming, the College of Dairy Technology today announced plans to set up a mini dairy plant so that experimental learning is made possible.

"Chhattisgarh Kamadhenu Vishwavidyalaya (CGKV)...is in the process of establishing mini dairy plant (capacity 10,000 litres of milk per day) in its own premises on turnkey basis.  The plant would be used for experimental learning and training of students of this college", the Raipur based college said in a press notification.

The cost of the project is pegged at Rs 1.75 crore.  The college is now looking to equip the dairy plant with laboratory equipment/instruments, milk processing equipment, dairy plant equipment and other lab wares.
 
The mini dairy plant will have a raw milk reception area, a milk processing plant, liquid milk packaging section and other utilities.
 
Established in 2012, CGKV’s vision is to enhance contribution of livestock sector to the sustainable food security, poverty reduction and economic growth of the state.  It works towards all round development of livestock, poultry and fisheries through quality education, research and development of innovative technology.  (KNN/ES)
