New Delhi, Mar 30 (KNN) The state Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has claimed that the power situation in the national capital has improved due to the continuous supply of electricity, thus the consumers have to pay extra electricity bill.

“There are a lot of youths here who don't even know that there used to be eight to 9-hour-long power outages in Delhi,” said Dikshit yesterday.
Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party’s protest has entered the eighth day against "inflated" power and water bills. They have been asking people not to pay the bills.

The power tariff in the city was hiked by 22 per cent in 2011 followed by five per cent hike in February last year. The tariff was hiked by up to two per cent in May last year and again by 26 per cent for domestic consumers in July last year.

The tariff was hiked by up to three per cent last month. The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission is again considering a hike in tariff. (KNN)
