Delhi govt opens second DSEU skill centre in Malka Ganj
New Delhi, July 21 (KNN) With the aim to provide soft skills training to the youth of low-income communities, the Delhi government has launched the second Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) lighthouse centre in Malka Ganj.
The skill centre will offer short-term vocational skilling courses in order to provide relevant job-oriented skills to the youth.
Deputy Chief Minister and education minister Manish Sisodia said the centre will address the skill development needs of the youth living in slum clusters in and around the area. “This Lighthouse will provide plethora of employment opportunities for young people between 18-30 years of age.
All those students who will be registered with the centre will get direct admission to the graduation courses being offered at DSEU.
“Students usually struggle for admission to college but the Delhi government has made such a unique programme wherein DSEU will go to the slums and give admission to the children there,” he said.
The Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship Universality is an important effort by the state government to equip the youth of underserved communities with new age skills at a university-level centre in the slum clusters itself. (KNN Bureau)
