Delhi receives highest consumer complaints in October

New Delhi, Nov 21 (KNN)  The National Consumer Helpline (NHC) from Delhi has received maximum number of complaints from consumers in October 2013.

The helpline received 15,380 calls from the consumers of different services, seeking assistance across the country, said an official statement here.

With a record of 3020 complaints, the maximum calls were received from the national capital area accounting for 22.86 per cent of the total complainants. This was followed by Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra with 16.35 per cent and 12.77 per cent respectively.

The ‘product’ sector had the maximum complaints against it from the consumers with 25.67 per cent of the total complaints. It was followed by telecom and e-commerce sectors.

Consumers in Punjab made the least number of complaints among the ten states listed by NCH with 3.13 per cent.

A total number of 1409 complaints were responded under convergence with various companies from the feedback received from 1675 callers.

The helpline received feedback from a number of 266 consumers to inform that their complaints has been resolved or informed of the resolution of their complaint through email/fax/letter.
