Delhi traders call upon Ministers from all political parties, gives 3-day deadline to solve the matter
New Delhi, Apr 12 (KNN) In the ongoing row around sealing drive in the national capital, the traders in Delhi recently held a ‘traders parliament’ inviting ministers from all political parties demanding an immediate solution to the problem.
Talking to KNN, Narendra Madan, Chairman of Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) said that the political parties were called and traders held a parliament to showcase the gravity of the problem.
“Traders in Delhi have set up their shops by putting at stake whatever little they have and suddenly one day the government decides to shut it down, are the traders supposed to simply die”, he raised.
Madan further said that the traders have urged the ministers to come up with a solution within three days.
“In the traders parliament we have given ministers three days to come with a concrete plan to bring an end to the destruction that is being caused to the trade ecosystem in Delhi, we have asked the ministers to keep politics aside and help us”, he informed.
Once the time period given to them is over, traders pan Delhi will sit and explore possible ways to tell government that the decision to shut down is actually going to bring in massive unemployment.
Also earlier, CAIT Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal said that in the wake of recent observations of Supreme Court and dilapidated condition of Delhi coupled with trader’s stake in such problems, the CAIT will soon release a ‘white paper’.
Also the association is planning to launch a a citywide campaign named “Halla Bol “, he added.
Civic bodies have undertaken the sealing drive initiated by a Supreme Court-appointed Monitoring Committee on December 2017 last year. The committee is sealing business establishments that are using residential properties for commercial purposes. (KNN/DA)
