Director JKEDI inaugurates Entrepreneurship development programme at Reasi & Budgam

Budgam, Oct 28 (KNN) A 10-day long Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) for women began in Reasi and Budgam districts on October 27.

The development programme was inaugurated by Director, Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), Ajaz Ahmad Bhat.

The primary aim of this programme is to empower and encourage women to set up income-generating units through manufacturing, services or trading activities.

The candidates will undergo a training with a focus on self-development, basic business skills, business and marketing plan formulation, account management, and sector-specific technical inputs.

During his address, Bhat stressed upon the need for inclusive growth through women empowerment and inclusion of tribal, backward and border populations in nation-building.

Upon successful completion of the training program, these registered female candidates will receive assistance in establishing or expanding an existing business. 

The trained female candidates shall also be facilitated to avail of financial assistance to the extent of Rs 5.00 lakh. 

Through this initiative, women will be able to improve their socioeconomic status and become more involved in nation-building.  (KNN Bureau)
