Discoms to replace defective meters in Haryana

Chandigarh, Jun 15 (KNN)  The Haryana Power Distribution Corporations in an attempt to bridge down the losses from consumers who have been tampering with metres will begin a campaign to change defective metres and relocate metres which are outside consumer premises.

Plans to this effect were outlined out by the chairman and managing director, of Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, Devender Singh here on Friday.

Meanwhile, the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission has asked the discoms to replace the defective meters immediately.

In keeping with the directive, discom companies are in the process of acquiring new single and three phase energy metres and will replace all defective meters by October-31 in a phased manner.   (KNN)
