District Export Plan for Srinagar in progress to boost local economy

Srinagar, Oct 26 (KNN) The modalities for formulating a District Export Plan for Srinagar is underway with a view to enhance the Export Shipments from Srinagar District and accelerate the local economy.

During a meeting on Tuesday under the Chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad the roadmap for formulating District Export Plan was discussed.

He pointed out the specific to various sectors which will be covered in the District Export Plan.

The DC also took a first hand appraisal from the line Departments about the Export activities being carried out under different sectors.

To increase Export volume with adequate market linkage to the Industry, he directed all the concerned Departments to undertake concerted efforts to formulate a comprehensive plan.

In boosting local manufacturing and exports he stressed on taking measures for providing support required by the local industry.

The DC also laid emphasis on formulating a strategy to enhance logistics and infrastructure at the District level and better utilisation of the Market Access Initiative for inviting foreign buyers.  (KNN Bureau)
