DPCC asks industrial units to submit consent application to establish or operate on its online portal by March 27

New Delhi, Mar 12 (KNN) The Delhi Pollution Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) has asked all the industrial units to submit the application for consent to establish and/or operate on Online Consent Management & Monitoring System (OCMMS) by 27th March, 2022.

OCMMS is an online portal of DPCC set up for the monitoring and management purpose.

“All the industrial units operating in NCT of Delhi are required to obtain "Consent to Establish" and "Consent to Operate" under the provisions of the Water and Air Acts,” said DPCC.

This notice also directed industries to comply with the provisions of the Air (Prevention and Control of pollution) Act, 1981 and the Water (Prevention and Control of pollution) Act, 1974.

As per government data, industries contributed 27 per cent and 30 per cent to particulate matter (PM)10 and PM2.5 respectively during the winter months in Delhi.

With regards to pollution control DPCC has been actively looking into ways to curb the contribution by industrial units.  (KNN Bureau)
