DPSC scouting for wind farms acquisition in W Bengal

Kolkata, June 25 (KNN) In the wake of expanding the renewable energy portfolio, DPSC, a power generation and distribution company has plans to acquire operational wind farms in West Bengal.

The operation wind-farm should have the generation capacity in the range of 20 -100 MW, while the wind turbine generation capacity should be in the range of 800 KW – 2.5 MW, said Senior Vice President, Renewable Business in a notification.

DPSC Limited is a power utility company whose main business comprises Distribution of electricity for public and private purpose in West Bengal and the Generation and procurement of electrical energy.

The Thermal Power Station of the company is located at Dishergarh, & Solar Power at Seebpore in association with West Bengal Green Energy Development Corporation Limited (WBGEDCL).

DPSC Limited provides power to the critical & delicate industries like collieries, underground mines of Eastern Coalfields Limited where power failure or any sorts of interruption may create endanger, disaster situation.. 

India Power Corporation Limited (IPCL), a holding Company of DPSCL was started in November, 2003. It is into the business of wind power, thermal power, hydel power, solar power and distribution of power across India.

The State of West Bengal has abundant sources of renewable energy in the form of solar, wind, biomass, biogas, hydro, tidal etc.  (KNN)
