e-governance in Goa taking wider shape

Panaji, Jul 2 (KNN) The Goa Government is roping in IT service providers and enablers for implementing and building an e-governance initiative across its different departments.

The state Department of Information Technology (DOIT) wants to have a ready list of suitable and competent IT software agencies for development, implementation, maintenance and IT support for various e-governance through process of ‘Enlistment of IT software agencies’.

The agencies will provide IT support to the department, develop and implement new e-Governance software so as to maintain and make future changes in totality.
The department will implement technologies like Java/Java2EE, Java Swings, Hibernate, Struts framework, agile model of programming, .Net framework, xml based web services, xforms, weblogic, PHP, Oracle 10g or higher, OC4J, JBoss and other related technologies.

In this context, DOIT is inviting bids from experienced individuals, sole proprietorship firms, partnership firms and public or private companies for enlistment as IT software agency in the department.

The Goa government has prepared its e-Governance roadmap with a focus towards Citizen Centric Services (G2C) and Business Centric Services (B2C). It has also considered and prepared the capacity building road map for the state as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology. (KNN/ST)
