Electrical gadgets repair course for unemployed in Jammu

Jammu, Jan 21 (KNN) To cater to unemployed youth here, the MSME Development Institute of Jammu along with the Rashtriya Rifles Battalion of Romeo Force had organised an Electrician cum Domestic Gadgets Repair Course.
The course that was held from January-7 to 20 provided information and course material pertaining to policies, financial schemes, vocational training programmes and assistance that is provided by both the State and Central Government to promote self-employment.
As many as 45 unemployed youth from the border area of Rajouri District attended the programme and received completion certificates from MSME, Jammu.
Rashtriya Rifles which is famous for counter insurgency and jungle warfare was raised by General S F Rodrigues and molded by Gen. B C Joshi in 1990. It comprises of 65 battalions and 6 rifle companies. It also has 5 Counterinsurgency Forces: Romeo, Delta, Victor, Kilo and Uniform.
Each force is assigned with a particular area called as ''sector'' covering entire Jammu and Kashmir valley. While the Romeo Force is assigned to Rajouri and Poonch sector, the Delta Force is assigned to Doda sector; Victor Force to Anantnag, Pulwama and Badgam sector; Kilo Force to Kupwara, Baramulla and Srinagar; and Uniform Force to Udhampur and Banihala sector.
MSME-DI, Srinagar, is functioning at Jammu due to prevailing circumstances in Kashmir Valley. This Institute and its branch at Jammu provide techno-managerial, economic and marketing services to prospective and existing entrepreneurs.
The entrepreneurs are guided in product identification and diversification, selection of machinery and their procurement and preparation of project profiles and reports.
The jurisdiction of the MSME-DI is over the State of Jammu and Kashmir which consists of 14 districts viz Srinagar, Budgam, Pulwama, Baramulla, Kupwara, Anantnag, Leh, Kargil in Kashmir province and Jammu, Kathua, Udhampur, Poonch, Rajouri, Doda in Jammu province. (KNN/ES)
