Entrepreneurship Week inaugurated in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, March 7 (KNN) Mr Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister Odisha inaugurated 'The Entrepreneurs' Week' with a promise to provide support to micro, small and medium scale industries from the Odisha Youth Innovation Fund.
 
Amongst the entrepreneurs, technocrats, financial institutions and many engaged in promotion and development of such enterprises, present on the occasion, Joginder Behera, Minister Micro, Small and Medium enterprises & PGPA emphasised the importance of entrepreneurship which he thought was not just creation of an enterprise but also creation of more jobs, capacity to produce wealth and income.
 
The seven day programme, 5th to 11th March 2015, includes various state-level programmes viz., seminars and workshops on various issues related to tourism, food processing, export, cluster development, safety measures, quality, credit, infrastructure, promotion of ancillary and downstream industries apart from all other aspects concerning the promotion and development of the MSME.
 
Moreover, in all 30 districts of the state, a number of workshops related to the promotion and development of the sector will also be conducted in association with the stakeholders.
 
After the agricultural sector, MSMEs are the biggest source of employment, with 1.57 million such enterprises providing employment to nearly 3.32 million people from the vulnerable and marginalised sectors of society including many women workers revealed the 4th MSME census in the state.
 
A key aspect of economic dynamism, entrepreneurship is increasingly recognised as an important driver of economic growth, productivity, innovation and employment and since the developing nations suffer from shortage of entrepreneurs, one of the reasons behind poverty in the developing countries, despite their rich natural resources, the government is focusing on the micro small and medium enterprises reiterated Industries minister Debi Prasad.
 
To address issues related to finance, HR, IT, Marketing, R&D etc. whose solutions remain elusive despite of the improvement in policy framework and regulatory environment, there  will be an Open House Discussion on 11.03.2015 at 10.30 a.m. in Hotel Mayfair (Convention), Central Hall, Bhubaneswar under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Odisha.
