ENVIS Centre with North East Cane and Bamboo Council conducts training from 15 Dec in Guwahati

Guwahati, 17 Dec (KNN) The Environmental Information System (ENVIS) Centre- Assam in collaboration with North East Cane and Bamboo Council (NECBDC) is conducting a two months long training program on “Value Addition and Marketing Of Non-Timbre Forest Product (NTFPS) ( Plant Origin): Bamboo Crafts” from 15th December, 2021 to 12th February, 2022.

It is a programme of ENVIS Secretariat, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change ( MoEF&CC ), Govt. of India taking place at the NECBDC campus in Guwahati.

Dr. Shailendra Chaudhari, MD, NECBDC along with government officials from Assam welcomed and addressed the trainees on the occasion.

ENVIS Centre- Assam is supported and catalysed by the Ministry of Environment & Forests, Govt. of India which aims to formulate better methodologies to achieve the beneficiaries of environmental management, so that the common masses get the reward.

The Assam Centre of ENVIS situated at ASTE Council has been assigned with subject area of "State Environment Related Issues" since last four years.

Its objective is to develop an information network through inclusion of varying subject areas, themes, local conditions, issues, information/ data needs of the country pertaining to environment.

Further it looks after developing a network by increasing the participating institutions devoted in various sectors on environment, and use of latest Information Communication Technology (ICT Tools) to widen and modernize the circle of ENVIS.

Followed by its core aim to achieve a nation wide web enabled network on environmental information with local language interface to be added gradually through the development of capacity enhancement Programmes.
