Ex-MSME Secretary A K Sharma takes oath as UP Minister

Lucknow, Mar 26 (KNN) Former MSME Secretary A K Sharma has sworn in as a cabinet Minister in the Uttar Pradesh government. 

In April 2020 Sharma was shifted to MSME Ministry as secretary to handle the industrial sector who has now entered into politics as he took oath as UP minister on Friday. 

He took voluntary retirement from civil services in 2021 and has previously worked in Gujarat when Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of the state. 

Sharma hails from Mau district in UP and after quitting IAS decided to join BJP and became a member of the UP legislative council.

When the second wave of covid was hit, PM Modi lauded Sharma for his efforts and management skills in bringing down the cases in Varanasi. 

It was in 2001 when he was youngest secretary-level officer and he started working with the then CM of Gujarat, Narendra Modi Modi. (KNN Bureau)
