Chandigarh, May 17 (KNN) The Punjab Government will be creating a kind of fortress environment for checking and stopping evasion of excise on the manufacture of breweries products with installation of high-tech equipment at distilleries and bottling plants.

It wants to install CCTV Cameras, boom barriers with integrated hardware and software solutions at distilleries, bottling plants and breweries including, bio-metric access solution along with CC camera unit.

According to the excise rules of the state, no liquor can move out of the distillery, bottling plant and brewery without having a valid excise pass.

However, in order to monitor that distilleries, bottling plants and breweries are issuing liquor strictly in accordance with the Excise Passes issued by the department, the present project is aimed to develop an integrated hardware and software solution for distilleries, bottling plants and breweries for monitoring the movement of liquor from these units.

This will enable the Excise and Taxation department to enhance revenue by having better control on the functioning of these units and to keep track on liquor movement out of distilleries, bottling plants and breweries thereby ensuring that all relevant taxes are being properly paid on the liquor.

The Punjab Excise and Taxation Commissioner is seeking software solutions from individuals, firms or companies as vendors for the proposed project.

The   selected vendor will perform the services and carry out its obligations under the contract with due diligence, efficiency and economy, in accordance with generally accepted techniques and practices used in the industry and with professional engineering and consulting standards recognized by international professional bodies.

It will observe sound management, technical and engineering practices and employ appropriate advanced technology and safe and effective equipment, machinery, material and methods.  (KNN/ST)
