New Delhi, May 13 (KNN) The Industrial Development Minister of Uttar Pradesh Satish Mahana met Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Union Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship to discuss ways to maximize development in the state through centre-state collaboration.

Key focus of the meeting was to explore ways to empower the youth in the state with skills that could make them employable. This is done with an intention to provide workforce to the industrial clusters in the state, thus boosting the industries in the long run.

The Industrial Development Minister spoke of the potential of expanding industrial clusters in Noida, Agra and Kanpur. He also said that for the expansion to be smooth there is a need to keep a workforce ready for the industries.

Rudy responded to this saying that the Skill India program of the government along the lines of National Skill Qualification Framework has curriculum dedicated to cater the requirement of the industry.  The Union Minister further assured that the Centre will extend all possible support to the State to boost the industrial growth in Uttar Pradesh.

Also the MSDE will train youth to make use of technology to derive advantage of the initiatives being run by the government.

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship aims to promote skill development. In the short-term skill development programs, almost 3.5 lakh students have already been a part of the program and have learnt skills that the industry needs.(KNN/ DA)
