FICO holds 'Design Clinic' for MSMEs in Punjab

New Delhi, Feb 28 (KNN) A session on “Design Clinic” was organized by the Federation of Industrial and Commercial Organization (FICO) in partnership with Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute (MSME-DI) of Punjab and Chandigarh, at FICO head office on 27th Feb 2018.

More than 75 members participated in the session.

Keynote speaker of the event was Sharanpal Singh, manager of Ludhiana Central Tool Room (CTR).

During the event, Sharanpal Singh explained the “Design Clinic” scheme of the ministry and also put light on the purpose and objectives of the project.

Further, MSME-DI director Kundan Lal and assistant director RK Parmar informed the participants that under this scheme micro units or cluster of micro units can get 75% of their investment back but not over Rs 15 lakh subject to they must collaborate to develop a new product, new prototype or a new import substitute product.

In case of SME’s this benefit can be availed up to maximum of ₹40 lakh.

They also explained that this benefit is also for the individual firm as well as for the cluster, provided that the applying units have to be a profitable unit for last three financial years.

If any member develops a design of a new product he/she has to get its patent from the government said, FICO president Gurmeet Singh Kular. (KNN/YV)
