Five apps developed for SMEs at Savitribai Phule Pune University C4i4 Lab

Pune, Jan 20 (KNN) To help digitise all functions of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), five apps have been launched by the C4i4 Lab- industry-academic wing of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) campus. 

This initiative was undertaken as an effort to curb challenges posed by the covid-19 pandemic.

These apps were released under the Samarth Udyog Bharat 4.0’ initiative at SPPU by the central government. 

It helps SME’s including those for e-scheduling, order traceability, shop floor planner, digital service management and sales configurator applications.

Speaking at the inaugural, Union Heavy Industries Minister Mahendranath Pandey, said India is leading towards becoming a manufacturing hub as more than 155 projects are in pipeline under the Department of Heavy Industries. 

The Vice Chancellor of SPPU, Dr Nitin Karmalkar said, “We wanted to integrate education and industry, hence we established the C4i4 Lab in our campus.”

Making students aware of the science and technology is the main objective and give them the hands on practice and opportunity to address the real problems of industry, he said. 

Through research and development, this initiative will also boost entrepreneurial mindset in the campus. 

Dignitaries from various companies were present at the event such as Rahul Kirloskar, Chairman, Kirloskar pneumatic company, C4i4 lab director Dattatraya Navalgundkar and Girish Wagh, Executive Director, Tata Motors.
