FOIJ demands Extension Center of MSME Tool Room Ludhiana in Jammu

New Delhi, Oct 5 (KNN) The micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) of Jammu have demanded an extension centre of MSME Tool Room Ludhiana in Jammu.

During the course of discussion at the 76th Central Tool Room Governing Council Meeting of MSME, Director of Industries and Commerce, Jammu, Dr. Ravi Shanker Sharma and Federation of Industries Jammu (FOIJ) raised the issues to the Chairman of Governing Council about the problems being faced by the Industrial Sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

FOIJ Chairman Lalit Mahajn said the problems are being faced due to non-availability of requisite infrastructure with the MSME DI-Jammu office for providing specialized services for manufacturing special tools for units engaged in the manufacturing of Plastics, Pharmaceuticals and other related products.

FOIJ pointed that several Extension Centers are already working under the control of Central Tool Room Ludhiana like Karnal, Faridabad, Rohtak and Haryana which are providing skill training in specialized field to the youth.

Demanding similar Extension Center at Jammu, Mahajan said this would be required in order to create infrastructure, for providing Skill Training to the local youth of Jammu and Kashmir.

The participation of ITI’s of the State especially in the fields not catered by it, is also necessary. It should also provide door step facility to the local Industries.

Chairman issued directions to the General Manager, to start the Tool Room Facility as per the requirement of Industrial units, till the establishment of Technology Centre at Samba, Jammu.

Further, FOIJ hailed the efforts of Shailendra Kumar and Dr. Ravi Shanker Sharma for earmarking of requisite land and for establishment of Technology Centre in Samba Industrial Estate for which detailed project planning is already under process with the Ministry of MSME.

Once the Technology Centre is established, it will open the door for providing skill training to local youth to explore employment opportunities in the industrial sector of Jammu & Kashmir. (KNN India)
