Food processing ministry approves proposal to setup 3 common incubation centres in J&K

Srinagar, Aug 5 (KNN) The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MOFPI) has approved the proposal to setup 3 Common Incubation Centres in Jammu and Kashmir. These centres will include a hub for milk and its products in Narwal, for fish in Achabal and for apples in Doabgah.

A review meeting for the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PM-FME) scheme was underway at the Civil Secretariat in Jammu on Thursday. The decision regarding the incubation centres was announced here.

The PM- FME scheme is a centrally sponsored scheme and it is aimed at providing financial, technical and business support for the upgradation of existing micro food processing enterprises.

In the meeting, the indicative list of promotional activities planned by the various departments was shared with the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Atal Dulloo. During the meeting, the ACS directed officers to start preparing the district resource persons for the development of the new proposed common infrastructures.

The meeting was attended by Director Horticulture Planning & Marketing Vishesh Paul Mahajan; Director Horticulture Jammu, Ram Savak; Director Agriculture Jammu, KK Sharma; Managing Director, J&K Agro Development Corporation, Arun Manhas among District Nodal Officers and others. Officers from the Kashmir division and all districts participated through video conferences.  (KNN Bureau)
