Former CM appeal Chief Secy to address problem of power cuts impacting MSMEs in Andhra Pradesh

Amaravati, April 12 (KNN) The former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu has reached out to the Chief Secretary urging him to address the problem of power cuts impacting the functioning and productivity of MSMEs, industries and other segments such as agriculture and service sector.

He said that it is important to find a solution for these power cuts in order to maintain a standard of living for people whilst protecting their livelihoods.

Naidu in his letter to the Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh emphasised on the duty of a government to ensure that the power sector is well maintained as it is imperative in the development of industries and the state economy.

The current opposition leader highlighted the record of state power sector over the past three years stating that thoughtless policies and lack of planning on the part of the state government crushed the sector.

He said that in 2014, after the State Reorganisation, there was a power deficit of 22.5 million units in Andhra Pradesh.

After implementing reforms and giving incentives, the State achieved surplus status by 2019, which was also the last year of his tenure as CM.

Naidu slammed the state government for irresponsibility for the lack of enough coal reserves accusing that it failed to keep coal reserves enough for 45 days.

He further criticised CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for ‘throwing’ lakhs of workers on the road by announcing a power holiday to the industries. (KNN Bureau)
