Kolkota, 17 Nov (KNN) Techno India University, Kolkata, and Federation of Small & Medium Industries, West Bengal (FOSMI), have announced a competition for the MSMEs titled ‘Implementation of Lean during the time of pandemic’ over virtual platform on 28th November 2021.

The chief aim of the competition is to see participation fr0m Manufacturing & Service Sector MSMEs, who have effectively implemented a Lean project during the COVID-19 induced pandemic.

The basis of assessment of the participating MSMEs include details of the Lean project carried out during the pandemic along with project objectives & results achieved vis-à-vis set objectives, and details of lean tools used for the project.

It will also require information pertaining to Financial benefits derived fr0m implementation of the project and Customer satisfaction parameters fulfilled through implementation of the project for the assessment.

The assessment will also include improvement of employee morale through implementation of the project and plans for sustenance of the implemented lean practices.

Each participant must send the above details in short paragraphs with supportive documents, photographs (particularly, before & after photographs) and other evidence along with the application form & questionnaire to be provided to them. Separate sheets may be used if the space in the questionnaire is inadequate. 

For the selection process, participants will be provided with a questionnaire, in word document, to fill up relevant Company details along with details of the specific lean project implemented during the pandemic covering the points mentioned under ‘Basis of assessment of the participating MSMEs’ in the previous section.

After that participants will have to pay the application fee as per details mentioned in a subsequent section.

The filled up questionnaires must be returned through E-mail to ID: fosmi.cal@gmail.com, by 24th November, 2021.

Further, the Jury Panel will review the Received questionnaires and up to 10 participants will be selected as Finalists.

For selection of the Winners, each Finalist will make a presentation about the implemented Lean Project and project achievements to the Jury Panel, based on submitted details through the questionnaire, on 28th November, 2021, for 10 minutes followed by a Question & Answer session of 5 minutes.

Schedule of presentation by the Finalists through a virtual platform, details of which will be intimated later, is fr0m 12 pm to 3 pm on Sunday, 28th November, 2021.

An application fee of INR 1500/- (Rupees One thousand five hundred only) would have to be paid while sending the filled up questionnaire latest by 24th November 2021 to the following bank account through net banking.
