GCCI & FIEO highlight Goa’s export potential of $3.5 billion

Panaji, Mar 21 (KNN) Despite the huge gap created in exports due to mining crisis, Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) and Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) have showed confidence in Goa’s export potential of USD 3.5 billion.

GCCI said the void created due to the closure of mining industry can be filled up by focusing on the manufacturing sector and finished engineering goods.

FIEO emphasised on the need of a clear roadmap to promote exports and achieve target of USD 3 billion over the next three to four years.

Ralph De Sousa GCCI president said, “After the mining crisis, there is a huge gap and in spite of this, Goa achieved USD 1.7 billion of exports in 2020-21 and I am quite sure that this will double.”

To discuss this in depth, a day-long export conclave on 22nd March is being organised by GCCI and FIEO.

The event will explore and understand the potential for export commodities and prepare a white paper for the government to encourage exports. (KNN Bureau)
