GCCI should check the feasibility of a cooperative model in the industry and bring in fresh talent, he said.

Emphasising on the Russia-Ukraine war and the pandemic, Patwari said that due to rise in input costs in the wake of these two majorly global events has pushed the several problems on the industry related to finance and working capital.

“The central government should provide financial support to industry. Based on the suggestions from our members, we have decided that we will also focus on new industries and start-ups in the state. We will work for better ease of doing business in Gujarat. The services sector contributes significantly towards the GDP and our team will raise their concerns too,” he added.

GCCI also aims to focus on increasing their membership base and try to support even small traders.

“But we will not tolerate it if a unit acts irresponsibly and contributes to environmental pollution. We will not make any representation for such a unit,” he stated.

He also said that the GCCI will have a new convention and research centre for which the plot has been identified.  (KNN Bureau)
