New Delhi, Mar 20 (KNN) Voicing the need for generation employment opportunities in the country, R.V Deshpande, Minister for Large and Medium Industries in the Karnataka government said that the biggest challenge at present it to provide employment to the youth.

Urging industries to come together for the cause, Deshpande said industries should come forward and set up skill development centers to help enable youth get employment.

Deshpande made the remarks during a foundation laying event  for the establishment of a one million ton steel plant by Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores (SMIORE) Ltd.

In a bid to encourage investments in the state, he further assured that the government is committed to support industries in every possible manner.

Highlighting the potential of the state, the Minister further said Karnataka has always been a visionary State.

It was the first to frame a policy for Information & Technology in 1995. It also pioneered in the start-up field to give a boost to varied sectors including tourism, small scale industries and the like, and organised the Global Investors’ Meet.

It would continue to do so besides giving thrust to infrastructure development leading to industrial growth generating employment opportunities and overall development of the State, the Minister added. (With Inputs from a media report) (KNN/YV)
