Give special status to Delhi markets in Master Plan 2041: Traders

New Delhi, April 28 (KNN) The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has appealed to the central government for giving special status to the markets of Delhi in the Master Plan 2041 which is currently under drafting stage.

In a letter to the Union Urban Development Minister Hardeep Puri, CAIT's Delhi Chapter President Vipin Ahuja and National Secretary Sumit Agarwal have said that the distribution pattern of Delhi is going on since the time of the Mughals and keeping this in mind, it is very important to preserve it by giving special status to the markets of Delhi in the Master Plan 2041.

CAIT Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal has also urged Minister Puri to integrate Delhi markets in the Master Plan 2041 and has appealed that all the notices given by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi must be taken back with immediate effects.

“In Delhi more than 10,000 shops have been sealed due to which the livelihood of the traders and their employees is in big trouble. The seals of all these shops should be opened immediately on humanitarian grounds so that they can start their business once again by any means,” said Khandelwal.

Disappointed with the Delhi government, Khandelwal said that the traders of Delhi do not have any hope from the Delhi government in this matter. He further stated that ever since Arvind Kejriwal became the Chief Minister, he has neither discussed nor raised the issue of sealing with the traders even once. (KNN Bureau)
