Goa to ensure clean venues for Lusofonia Games

Panaji, Nov 16 (KNN)  In an effort to maintain a safe and hygienic environment for the upcoming Lusofonia Games, the organising committee is taking various steps.

Lusofonia Games-2014 which is expected to see around 1500 athletes and team members from 12 countries will be held here in January 2014.

Lusofonia is a multinational multi-sport event organised by the Association of the Portuguese Speaking Olympic Committees (ACOLOP).

It involves athletes coming from Portuguese-speaking countries which belong to Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP).

In this regard, the Venue Development and Operations Functional Area and Lusofonia Games Organising Committee (LUGOC) on behalf of Goa government which is the host of the games is seeking proposals from experienced agencies and waste management corporations to monitor venues and ensure hygiene during the twelve day-long event.   (KNN/ST)
