Goa govt to introduce new schemes under GST, VAT in state budget

Panaji, Mar 24 (KNN) Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in a meeting with various Industry stakeholder on Thursday informed that the government has decided to introduce new schemes under Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Value Added Tax (VAT) in the state budget.
Sawant held meetings with the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Travel and Tourism Association of Goa, the Goa State Industries Association, representatives of liquor industries, agriculturists, petrol dealers, charter accountants, solar power generation association, mining associations, shack owners association and Goa pharmacy association, among others.
He assured that the budget will be an inclusive, considering all types of industries.
As per reports, various associations have suggested reforms for ease of doing business, while some suggested new schemes under GST and VAT, others sought exemption in collection of previous year’s VAT.
Sawant said that representatives from the entertainment sector, hotel and liquor associations have demanded that the state should introduce an entertainment policy and an advertising policy.
