Goa's single window clearance system IPB doing well for projects > Rs 5 cr investment & land requirement of >3000 sq mtrs: GSIA

New Delhi, Aug 7 (KNN) The Investment Promotion Board, (IPB) a nodal agency for single window clearance system as notified by the government of Goa in the month of May for facilitating projects, is doing well especially for projects above investment Rs 5 crore and land requirement of an area equal to or above 3000 square meters, Raj Kumar Kamat, President, Goa State Industries Association (GSIA) told KNN India.

He said all the applications are coming to IPB and from there they are being transferred to various departments.

Explaining the IPB process of working as a single window, he said that the in-principal approval is being granted by IPB depending on requirement like land, water and power.

All these 3 department officials then sit together with the IPB CEO and indentify how the requirement can be taken care off.

On clearances, he said since IPB was just notified a month or two ago and post that there has been only one meeting last week on this, so its too early to share experience about this.

The Government of Goa empowered the Investment Promotion Board to truly become a single window system for facilitating projects empowering the Board to seek other necessary clearances on behalf of the project proponents who approach them.

In an order issued on May 21, 2018, the Government has decreed that “the Board shall act as a single window for project proposals received by them for projects covered under section 8 of the said Act. However, the role of the Board shall be limited to that of a facilitator in obtaining requisite clearances/approvals from the Central Government/ State Government department and other agencies.”

“The Board shall within seven days from the receipt of the orders of the competent authority either sanctioning or rejecting the clearance, as the case may be forward the same to the applicant which shall result into the disposal of the application,” the order further reads
