Govt will offer all support & incentives for the growth & development of SMEs: Goa CM

Bengaluru, June 5 (KNN) Emphatic on promoting investments into the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) sector in Goa, the Chief Minister of Goa, Pramod Savanth said that the Government would offer all support and incentives for the growth and development of the sector.

He was speaking at the summit of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of Southern States including Goa. The event was 4th in the series and organized under the aegis of Goa State Industries Association with the full support of Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA) and other Southern Associations.

A memorandum highlighting various issues was submitted to the Chief Minister and also forwarded to the Ministry of MSMEs, Government of India, seeking redress of the various problems.

The summit essentially highlighted the many difficulties faced by the Small Scale Industries in their functioning, particularly with respect to bank finance, NPAs, regulatory compliance, GST related issues and also infrastructure deficiency that exists both at the micro and macro levels which hamper the development of SMEs.

The objective of the summit was to highlight the issues to the Central Government with a view to ensuring that the Government would address them and improve the eco system for the functioning of the SMEs in the southern region as well as the Country.

The President, KASSIA, Basavaraj S.Javali who is the Chairman of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the Southern States MSMEs, guided the conduct of the Summit with the other members.

The other participants of the Joint Action Committee included Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises (FSME), FAPSIA, Tamilnadu Small and Tiny Industries Association (TANSTIA), Confederation of All India Small & Medium Pesticides Manufacturers Association (CAPMA), Goa State Small Industries Association and office Bearers of KASSIA took active part in the Summit.
