Govts need to encourage setting up of MSME's by announcing incentives: KASSIA President

Mysuru, Aug 11 (KNN) Adverting that small scale industries play vital role in employment generation, President Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA), VK Dikshit opined governments need to encourage setting up of MSME’s by announcing incentives.
He was addressing the recent Industrial Buyer - Seller Meet cum Vendor Development programme for MSMEs and PSU’s jointly organised by MSME Development Institute (MSME-DI) Bengaluru, District Industries Centre (DIC) Mysuru, Nanjangud Industries Association (NIA) Nanjangud Mysuru District Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Association (MD- MSMEA) and Mysore Industries Association (MIA) at JSS Polytechnic in Nanjangud.
Stating that all governments are now taking measures for strengthening the industrial and manufacturing sector, Dikshit observed that the ‘Digital India’ ‘Skill India’ and ‘Make in India’ initiatives will help a long way in industrial growth of the country.
Stressing on the need for boosting the manufacturing sector as part of ‘Make in India’ campaign, he said that the establishment of MUDRA Bank will promote self-employment to a large extent.
Dikshit also emphasised that MSME’s are the nurseries for entrepreneurship and innovation producing a diverse range of products and services to meet the needs of local markets. He called upon the youths to become entrepreneurs and improve their competiveness.
Senior Manager, BEML, Shanmuga Assistant Purchase Manager, South Western Railway, Sathish explained the procurement policies, terms of payment and opportunities for vendor development in their institutions.

General Secretary KASSIA, Arasappa; Chairman, Vendor Development, Murali and Director Agriculture, Shivakumar Deputy were also present in the event.
