New Delhi, Dec 18 (KNN) Following fierce battle in both Gujarat and Himachal, national ruling party - The Bharatiya Janata Party is likely to register victory in both the states, trends by afternoon indicate.

While the trends reveal that the BJP is likely to take over near to hundred seats, congress it to form an opposition with over 70-80 seats in hand In a state that has 182 seats in total

For a party to form government in Gujarat, it requires 92 seats to past the post.

Whereas in Himachal, the trends indicate that BJP is to grab hold over 40 seats while congress trails at close to 20 seats in the state that has 68 seats in total.

Gujarat had the BJP government in power in the previous tenure, whereas Himachal is a state that the congress party loses.
