Gujarat's Second Plastics Park to be set up at Sanand

New Delhi, Feb 8 (KNN) With the vision to make plastic industry zero-defect and environment-friendly, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Wednesday has said that the government has decided to set up the state's second Plastics Park at Sanand near Ahmedabad as part of the new Specific Plastic Policy.

The purpose is to encourage startups and make the industry entrepreneur-friendly.

The first Dedicated Plastics Park was set up at Dahej in Bharuch.

2018 was held on Feb 7, 2018 and inaugurated by the Vijay Rupani.

In his addressing speech he said “the process to set up the PlastIndia International University to lend pace to research and development, recycling and new inventions, at Vapi is on.”

He further added that Gujarat already produces 50% of Country’s polymers and also recycles one-fourth of plastic wastes in the country to emerge as the most eco-friendly state.

Nearly 82,000 people are employed in 10,000 units, mostly in the MSME sector, with an investment of Rs 5,500-crore in the industry.

He further mentioned the announcement made by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi Government related to incentives for MSME sectors in the latest Union Budget for 2018-19

Referring to that he said the Gujarat Government also provides incentive of seven per cent interest subsidy.

As many as 2000 national and 50 international exhibitors & delegates are participating in the five day event, till February 12.

Energy Minister Saurabhbhai  Patel said “Gujarat has emerged as Plastic Capital of India and an ideal place for exhibition, because of its availability of raw materials and business-friendly policy and 'ease of doing business”

He also asked the organizers to hold the next exhibition of 2021 in Gujarat. (KNN/YV)
