Guntur to get three MSME parks

Guntur, Sept 21 (KNN) The Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh will soon have three micro small and medium parks to boost the prospects of rapid industrial growth, Joint Collector Cherukuri Sridhar has said.

Out of the three MSME parks, the spices park at Yadlapadu has been inaugurated while similar parks would be set up at Macharla and in Guntur, said Sridhar after inaugurating the National Vendor Development Programme (NVDP) cum Industrial Exhibition organised by the Ministry of MSME at Siddhartha Gardens on Saturday, according to a media report.

Stating that MSME sector is a highly promoter centric organisation, Sridhar said that behind the success of SMEs, was the single minded pursuit of entrepreneurship by the promoters.

Director, MSME-DI, B Chandrasekhar informed that cluster development projects (CDPs) have been in great demand and about 20 such projects were in the pipeline.

The CDP have a distinct advantage since 90 per cent of unit cost would be given in the form of grants. The maximum limit for the unit is Rs.15 crore, he said. (KNN Bureau)
