Handicraft dealers of J&K and Ladakh asked to register or renew their shops & business establishment

Srinagar, July 31 (KNN) Dealers in Srinagar dealing with Handicrafts business in the tourist areas of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh divisions of the state and Shikara Hawkers in Dal and Nigeen Lake have been asked to register or renew their shops & business establishment with the Directorate of Handicrafts without any delay and follow the rules of Tourist Trade Act.

The Deputy Director Handicrafts said the dealers should refrain from indulging in any kind of malpractice which includes cheating, dishonesty, touting, impersonation, failure to give cash memos etc.

An official statement said, "Inspection teams are closely watching all such business activities and action as warranted under J&K Tourist Trade Act 1978 shall be initiated against defaulters."

In case there is any kind of difficulty with regard to registration certificates, the dealers are advised to approach office of the Deputy Director Handicrafts, Quality Control, Solina Srinagar, the statement said.
